Wianno Avenue, Osterville, MA
(see directions below)

A combined March and April church service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, 10 AM
with Reverend Father Khachatur Kesablyan, pastor of St. Vartanantz Armenian Church, Chelmsford, MA

Following the combined March/April Badarak, on March 27, we will have our writing workshop.  If you have any tie at all to the Armenian Community of Cape Cod, we want you to join us to write.  Some of us have already started to think about what we want to write.  It was interesting to hear about the ideas that our "odar" spouses presented.  You know you have a story ready to go;  it can be about anything from daily living with an Armenian touch to your family's history and experiences with the Genocide.

Saturday, May 1, 2010
Following the Badarak, showing of Roger Hagopian's film:  Destination Watertown:  The Armenians of Hood Rubber.  All are welcome.  The showing will be at 12:30pm at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Osterville.  A light lunch will precede the film.

Save the dates:

Writing Workshop

Saturday, March 27, 2010
on the 95th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
Writing Workshop:  Writing to Save the History

Writing is a very therapeutic way to express oneself.  Writing can be useful in recording history.  Those of us tied to the Armenian community have a powerful message to relay.  Those living the Genocide of 1915 may be gone but what of the families of the survivors?  Have they been effected in the generations that follow?

Let us gather together on Saturday, March 27, 2010, on the 95th anniversary of the Genocide and write about our ties to things Armenian.  When our writings are gathered, what will our story tell?  Will it be a tale of great sadness or will it be a huge story of survival and accomplishment?

The Armenians were the first Genocide of the 20th Century.
Perhaps our experience can be beneficial to others who have also been through other genocides.

We will provide you with paper and writing tools or bring your own notebook or laptop.
Perhaps you will choose to write your story before and, and you would choose to read it to someone on that day.  Let us meet together and see where this adventure takes us.  You don't have to be a great, or even good writer; this might be a learning experience as well a contribution to the ages.  We know you have something to contribute: a short story only has to be a few paragraphs or this could be the beginning of a longer piece.
